THE PRODUCT THAT REPRESENTS OUR ORIGINS AND HAS MADE US A WELL-KNOWN BRAND IN THE WORLD
Suede leather, also known as “scamosciato”, is the first type of bovine leather that Scamosceria Astico started processing in the 1950s. Since then, the company continued to fine-tune its recipe to improve the leather resistance and durability, and to confer unique waterproof properties. “Scamosciato” is a split leather, that is the by-product of the full-grain leather splitting process. It is characterized by a silky touch, a very similar one to the touch of deer skin – hence the name “Scamosciato” which derives from the word “chamois” or camoscio in Italian.
